I tried to better myself
My people and my land
But all that came forth
Was a wave of death's hand

This tale is a tragedy
The near end of my kind
As I fade away
I stroll my wand'rin mind

It must be done, there's no other way
I must sail to the great isle
I must do whatever it takes
To protect against the hostile

But just as things were going my way
I felt a great devastation
And knew I did not belong here
To live in this humiliation

I tried my best to return back home
Run away as soon as I could
After searching for forever
I found a way to depart for good

And though the things that I acquired
Felt like healthy compensation
Nothing was worth the warm feeling
Of returning to my home nation

For a while life was good
Things seemed to be on the rise
A chance of getting better
But no one could have surmised

Now all around
Death lays its waste
No escape for anyone

Merciless slaughter
Meaningless loss
No escape for anyone

As I ponder extinction
The great isle springs forth
So much hope turned pain
At least I could solve it

Tracing back all those pathways
Things I did to be free
Seem ridiculous
Especially today

This current devastation
Is outside my control
I'm almost nostalgic
For the pain of yesteryears
